Narnia discussion

Friday, December 30th, 2005

I was checking out the website of a church I went to as a kid, The First United Methodist Church of Redondo Beach. They have a page dedicated to the Chronicles of Narnia discussion. I have never read the book, but have read C.S. Lewis’ "The Silent Planet." I was amazed my daughter’s teacher read it to her class. I plan to see the movie with the NavyFamily soon.

Meatloaf a boomer meal and year end activites

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

With the winter weather setting in I love to make oven meals. Meatloaf sounds so good for tonight’s dinner. It’s funny that it is a favorite dish in restaurants.

Since it is the end of the year, I love to look back at the years events. Listed here are the Idiots of the year.   Here is a list of 10 worst Brittan’s of all time. I guess I have to come up with a list of worst Americans.

Let see…. (not in necessary in order):
Aldridge Ames, Benedict Arnold, The Clinton’s (Hill and Bill),  Former President Jimmy Carter, New Orleans Mayor Ray Negan. Louisiana’s Governor Blanco, Senator Ted Kennedy, Senator John Kerry, Ex Governor 0f ca Gray Davis, Ex-Mayor of Spokane James West.

At home we are in the process of doing the year end cleaning, organizing and getting ready for the New Year. I guess I have a bit of Scottish mixed in with my Irish roots. Gotta get the house clean before Mid-night New years Eve! Monday I cleaned the bathrooms, Tuesday I went through the old clothes and donated to the Cancer Society and today we organize the Girls room, throw out old toys and bring in the new. The new toys are being held hostage in the garage until they clean up and purge the previous junk collected over the year. (Headless Barbies, broken McDonald’s toys, etc.)

It’s a joy to be NavyWife, but sometimes I wonder why I do it? (insanity?)  I love the NavyHusband and NavyGirls. They are a wonderful part of the NavyFamily.

Merry Christmas to all Our troops

Sunday, December 25th, 2005

An expert from the President’s speech:

On Christmas, we pray for freedom, justice, and peace on Earth.  We
remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and
for our freedom, and we ask for God’s blessing on their loved ones. We
ask God to watch over all of our men and women in uniform.  Many are
serving in distant lands, helping to advance the cause of freedom and
peace.  Our entire Nation is grateful to them and prays for their safe
return.

Merry Christmas!

Saturday, December 24th, 2005

I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I wanted to also let the Troops around the world we are thinking about you being away from your Families on Christmas. You are in our hearts and prayers this holiday season.

Nativity sets are in and my girls love playing with their own set. I have a Hallmark set of ornaments I collected over three years (1999 to 2001) that is off limits to them. Here is the 2005  Hallmark Holy Family.

Robert Dean Stethem’s killer is let go

Saturday, December 24th, 2005

I heard about the killer of Navy Diver Robert Dean Stethem being released I just cringed. Mohammed Ali Hammadi was released by Germany on Dec. 20th:

Robert Stethem’s family was never satisfied
that hijacker Mohammed Ali Hamadi received a life sentence in Germany for
the 1985 murder of the Navy diver from Maryland on a TWA airplane. Fearing
that Hamadi could eventually be let go, the Stethem family pushed unsuccessfully
for his extradition to the United State for trial.

Their fears were realized Friday when Hamadi
was granted parole by a German court after 19 years in prison. Hamadi was
allowed to fly to Lebanon that day on a commercial flight from Berlin.

God bless the Stethem Family. I wish we could have gotten that guy extradited to US for trial. It is sad it has been twenty years this June that Stetham was killed and dumped from the TWA plane. I hope we catch that guy before he kills again. And this time just do it right, and shoot him and dump his body on a tarmac.

Part of the Presidents Oath of Office

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005

Democrats, Please Pay Attention! (I think they all have ADD!) When our President took the Oath of office, he pledged
“I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.”

Not one American citizen civil rights were violated when the Patriot Act was signed into law. Also, I don’t think one American citizen’s rights were violated when a wire tap occurred from an international AQ cell phone call.

We are at WAR and still at WAR with enemies who want US dead and our country destroyed. I don’t care if wiretapping is used to STOP terrorist activities. I trust the President and information that is tapped will only be used if it pertains to Terrorist activities. If it is for criminal acts other than terrorism, the normal warrants would be sought. Otherwise, the information collected could not be used in court. Duh!

Give those Senators a Whacking!

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005

Pressconf
Dubya was a Master yesterday! He really took out the sharks at his year end press conference. I really love the line: " He asks the Senators of New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas: How will you explain how your cities and states are safer?

Ok Shumer, Boxer, Fienstien, Clinton and Reed. By filibustering the Patriot Act are we now going to be safer? Funny thing  we have been safer since no attack has happened since 9-11. Our laws are to protect US citizens, not the terrorists who are trying to use our OWN laws against us!

That’s why I voted to W in 2004. Right time, Right place, Right President. He is a true American and Commander-In-Chief. My NavyHubby is proud to serve under him.

Christmas Poem cited by Bush

Monday, December 19th, 2005

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Christmas Hymn & Carol Lyrics

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

Till ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bowed my head
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”
